About our Co-Director, Lee... Lee found barbershop music in 1986 when she joined the San Francisco Chorus and then Sacramento Valley Chorus. Lee joined ChannelAire in 1994, and also sang with International Champion Chorus, Harborlites, for many years. Lee directed South Valley Sound Chorus in Bakersfield for 9 years, and has now been directing ChannelAire since 2016. She was also a member of International Champion, Carpe Diem Chorus. Lee has the trifecta of competition medals – as a chorus singer (and a 2-time International gold medalist), a chorus director and a quartet singer. Lee’s kind heart, love of learning, passion for barbershop music, and willingness to share her talents are an excellent combination that makes her an inspiring director and friend. About our Co-Director, Mary... Mary fell in love with barbershop music in 1996 when she joined the ChannelAire. She went on to direct South Valley Sound Chorus in Bakersfield for 11 years, and then sang with International Chorus Champion, Harborlites. Most recently, she directed International Champion, Carpe Diem Chorus, for 13 years. Mary also has many International competition medals – as a chorus singer, a chorus director and a quartet singer. She was also a Music Judge in our International organization. Mary has the wacky sense of humor of a 12-year old boy, and keeps us laughing (and shaking our heads and rolling our eyes!) at every rehearsal. But you can be sure she is very serious about the music and ChannelAire Chorus! |
